these years. The last article I read was when you set the people straight on who discovered Tevin Cambell. What ever happened to him? You look the good.

I was the concert at the Collingswood NJ Scottish rite auditorium last year and had a wonderful time.
May God continue to richly bless and keep you. Love,
Valerie

I recently returned from the Phoenix Jazz in the Desert Fest which was 9-11 Oct, at the JW Marriot. Something was missing...you! BH,
Your life is a beautiful history. From Rawlings in Ghana to Russell Simmons--now that is what I call the African Diaspora.

I am so pleased that I have been able to hear your music. I was thinking about the Mizell brothers the other day. I think I had some Donald Byrd on form the Seventies, and I thought about them.

And from Andy Warhol to Dorothy Donegan. You have been blessed to be a musical force and a citizen of the world.
Thanks so much.

August 30, 2008

Hello BOBBI. I miss you and your flute sooo much. I've been a fan of yours since the very beginning. I was a big fan when I had the distinct opportunity to see you live. I never thought that would happen. But many many years ago, approx 1980, you did a set at a small club in East Orange, NJ. I believe, at the time, it was called Club 88, at 88 Evergreen St. But I'm not sure, it changed its name so many times. But I couldnt believe that I had gotten that fortunate to see someone that I enjoyed so much. I had a cassette tape in my car of all your songs. I was going to run out to the car and get it and ask you to sign it for me (because it stayed in my tape-player; I listened to it all the time). But I didnt get the tape. I didnt want to appear foolish. But, I still have that cassette. But I also have every one of your LPs. And I am so glad they started re-issuing your music on CDs, finally. As they come out, I order them. That is how I found your web-site; I just "pre-ordered" FANCY DANCER. But you know, I've tried and tried to find "TAILOR MADE" on CD. Obviously its not out yet. But that is one of my favorites. Especially LOVER tO LOVER. WoW. I still get goosebumps when I listen to it these many years later. Especially the ending; the way it slowly fades into the distance. And I loved the cover, of course. I've always known you are from Houston. I dont remember how I know that, but, that sticks in my mind. Are you still performing? I remember when you gave birth to your daughter and you had her picture on the cover of SATIN DOLL. I thought she was just adorable. And you also paid her homage with the song MY LITTLE GIRL. But listen to me, as if I'm telling YOU something you dont know. I'm sure that little girl has now grown into a lady. And I would imagine that you have taught her some of your flute tricks and talents. I miss you so much BOBBI. Come on and bless us with another album. Even if you're not signed anywhere, you know there are ways nowadays to get your music out there. Well, I've been ranting and raving and I dont want to take up any more of your time. I just wanted you to know that you have a true fan right here.
